Quit Your Ditchin’!

Blog post image

Hey! We are still going to move forward with the mini-series called “7 SCIENCE BASED SECRETS that simplify fat loss” (as mentioned in our last blog) but this day came up and we had to make a point about it … How fast does January seem to fly by? We are just a few weeks past the New Year’s Eve Ball dropping. How is 2018 going for you? Let me ask you this:

Did YOU make a New Year Resolution?

If so, let me ask you another question: Have you kept it?

We did a little checking into New Year “resolutions”. We came across a study done just 2 years ago at the University of Scranton. The findings were published in the Journal of Clinical Psychology, and they really grabbed our attention. First, check out Top 5 Resolutions we make:

Rank Top New Year's Resolution
1 Lose Weight
2 Getting Organized
3 Spend Less, Save More
4 Enjoy Life to the Fullest
5 Staying Fit and Healthy

The research findings show that of the resolutions made, 38% are weight related resolutions. That means that of all the folks who make a resolution (and we all know there are hundreds of thousands who do) almost 4 of 10 want to LOSE WEIGHT!

Here’s the sad truth though: the study showed that only 8% of people are successful in achieving their resolution. Ouch! That is a horribly low and very frustrating success rate!

Did you know there is a day called the “National Ditch Your Resolutions Day”? Sure, it’s a “fake holiday” but it’s on the event calendar, supposedly based on the premise that JANUARY 17 is the most common day for people to give up on their resolutions.

How sad is this? 17 days in is less than 5% of the way through the year!

The REASONS people ditch their resolutions are clear:

  • They don’t know exactly what to do – they lack a plan that will actually work. It’s more than just low calorie or low carb. It’s about metabolism … and genetics. Seriously!
  • They lack accountability. We all do better when we have someone making a difficult journey with us. Call it whatever you want: a coach, a partner or a cheerleader. That component is a huge part of the Lifetime Metabolic Program’s success.
  • Lack of results from the start. Good News: The Lifetime Metabolic Program is specifically designed to off-set that reason for ditching your resolution. In fact, in this program it is quite common for clients to lose 20 or more pounds in the first 6 week phase! Of course, results vary but such a POSSIBILITY oughta grab your attention!

If you have found yourself ditchin, it’s probably time to give us a call. For many, many people we really are The New Year Resolution SOLUTION!
